Privacy Policy

Metronome's privacy policy — audio is synthesized locally, settings stay in your browser's localStorage, and the few things that do leave the page.

Last updated: October 2026.

The sound never travels

Every click you hear is synthesized inside your browser from an oscillator and a volume envelope — there are no audio files to fetch and nothing about your session is recorded or transmitted. Your taps, tempo changes and playing sessions exist only while the page does. You can load the site, disconnect, and the metronome keeps perfect time.

What this site stores on your device

One localStorage entry (metronome:v1) holds your last-used tempo, time signature, subdivision, sound and volume so the metronome reopens the way you left it. It stays on your device, is never transmitted, and disappears when you clear site data. No cookies are set by our own code.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Hosting is on Cloudflare, which injects its Web Analytics beacon into pages. That beacon is cookieless — it reports the page URL, referrer, an approximate country and load timing so aggregate traffic can be measured, and it sets no identifiers. Separately, a cookieless counter of our own records a page view with referrer, country and rough duration; it skips automated traffic and contains nothing you typed. Cloudflare also processes standard connection metadata (IP, user agent, timestamp) as any host does.

Advertising

Ads shown on some pages come from Google AdSense, which may set its own cookies to deliver and measure ads. Ad personalization is controlled from your Google ad settings — this site doesn’t see or store ad-related data, and ads never change what the tools compute.
