Disclaimer
Metronome disclaimer — accurate timing and honest math, provided as-is; tempo markings are conventions, and results are yours to verify.
This site is provided “as is” for practice, rehearsal and studio reference. The timing engine is built for accuracy — clicks are scheduled on the Web Audio clock — but we make no warranties, and a few honest boundaries apply.
Tempo markings are conventions. The BPM ranges attached to Italian terms like Allegro or Andante are approximations that sources legitimately disagree on — the tempo markings guide says so and shows its references. A metronome mark on a score is precise; a tempo word is advice. Interpretation belongs to the player.
Your chain matters. The scheduled click is accurate; what reaches your ears also depends on your device’s audio stack and Bluetooth latency. On wireless headphones, clicks can arrive tens of milliseconds late — everything stays together, just later, which matters for tap-tempo measurements. For tight work use wired output.
Do your own checking. BPM↔ms conversions are arithmetic and shown with their formulas — verify against them before committing numbers to a session or a print run. Practice advice here is general guidance, not medical or pedagogical instruction; if playing hurts, stop and see someone qualified rather than a website.
The site is supported by advertising. Ads don’t influence tempos, math or guides — the click can’t tell who paid for it.
